At the generously shared suggestion of artist Larry Seiler, I have been experimenting with Emil Gruppe's rosy red background technique for landscapes. Here, I am trying a bright, vibrant shade. Below: my contour drawing, using vine charcoal on the prepared red ground.

I called it quits as I began to lose my lighting, which indeed can get frustrating. I will simply return later when the dial is at the right "time"! |
